Description
SUMMARY
Works in conjunction with Commercial team, to include credit analysis function, commercial loan
assistant(s), designated commercial loan officer(s) and general bank-wide commercial lending
efforts with emphasis on developing profitable new business through prospects and existing bank
customers. Current relationship focus is to retain and expand depth of relationships. Seek new
relationships through calls, visits, and networking. Assists in growth of commercial lending
portfolio to support the goals of the institution as stated and assigned.
Typical Schedule
Full-time; Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Position does allow some flexibility to work
remote as approved by SVP Commercial Lender and/or Chief Credit Officer (CCO), upon considering
staffing needs, weather, meetings, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Works closely with a team of loan officers and support staff in structuring, underwriting, and
closing commercial loans;
• Develops new Business Relationships via various methods, to grow loan portfolio and achieve bank
wide loan goals;
• Offers suggestions to SVP Commercial Lender and/or Chief Credit Officer in implementing loan and
credit risk policies and procedures;
• Provides reviews, identifications, and analyses of credit risks for Quarterly Loan Review
Committee as required;
• Assists the commercial lending department with regard to maintaining compliance with all
commercial and bank policies, compliance laws, and regulations;
• Assists SVP Commercial Lender and/or CCO in gathering/preparing documents for audits/exams, as
well as making corrections to processes when required;
• -Works with SVP Commercial Lender, CFO, and CCO to develop commercial loan pricing models to
insure profitable loans;
• Responsible for ensuring that credit limits do not exceed certain amounts on any one
account;
• Manage portfolio of larger, more complex commercial relationships;
• Evaluate and make credit decisions on commercial loan opportunities, both with direct
relationships and those managed by line lenders;
• Must have in-depth knowledge of current and approved methodologies of risk measurement;
• Presents loans at weekly MLRG meetings, and presents larger commercial loan opportunities to
Board of Directors with recommendation for action to be taken;
• -Works with the Credit Analysts and Commercial Loan Assistant function to ensure proper and
consistent underwriting and documentation of commercial credit;
• Works with SVP Commercial Lender and/or CCO to develop and execute loan portfolio strategies,
monitor the performance of loans, and work to mitigate risks;
• Works in conjunction with SVP Commercial Lender and/or CCO to establish and maintain
relationships with participation networks and identify opportunities for loan sales;
• Responsible to develop customer and referral networks;
• Assist with and, when situations warrants, lead efforts to manage/collect commercial work-out
loan situations;
• Assist line lenders with smaller or less complex commercial loan relationships – meeting with
customers, reviewing loan documentation, developing strategy, etc;
• Travel to customer sites for meetings, construction/collateral inspections, loan closings, etc.
as needed;
• Serve as a representative of the Northumberland National Bank to the community;
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job;
• Participate in and/or complete all necessary bank training;
• Required to maintain the strictness of confidentiality in all matters;

managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures;
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource
allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of
people and resources
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance;
• Minimum 10 years combined experience in banking/lending/general business.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
• Valid PA driver’s license.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Routine local, regional and national travel to meet with customers, shareholders, regulators and attend various industry related events and trainings.
