NORTHWEST MICHIGAN HEALTH SERVICES is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Traverse, MI

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist will create, develop, implement, and conduct onboarding, training, and development programs for employees. This position will maintain all Human Resources training records including annual compliance training.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, prepares, and hosts onboarding for new hires, interns, students, volunteers, and residents
  • Prepares training schedules for new hires and their supervisor, trainers, mentors/team in collaboration with the hiring team, including the scheduling of training in Outlook Calendars 
  • Manages and updates training checklists for each job description, collaborating with hiring managers/supervisors 
  • Collects and maintains training materials for all onboarding trainings
  • Schedules and completes all HR check ins with new hires after completion of week 1, week 2, 30 days and any time as needed. Sharing feedback with leadership and management teams.
  • Prepares, develops, coordinates and delivers new hire orientation
  • Collects and maintains presentations for new hire orientations, including presenter information
  • Coordinates, documents and maintains training records including but not limited to Compliance training, and CPR/BLS training for all staff
  • Manages and administers Relias trainings, provides compliance training reports monthly, annually and as needed, assisting with reporting and documenting compliance trainings for FTCA
  • Manages and completes credentialing and privileging for onboarding staff in accordance with NMHSI’s Credentialing policy, FTCA and HRSA guidelines 
  • Manages and completes the recredentialing process in accordance with NMHSI’s credentialing policy, FTCA and HRSA guidelines
  • Maintains tracking and tickler system to manage credentialing and privileging in accordance with NMHSI credentialing policy, FTCA and HRSA guidelines
  • Collects and maintains required documentation for all student and resident clinical rotations including Memorandums of Agreements with educational facilities
  • Manages and tracks continuing education, confirming available funds and updates information annually
  • Conducts monthly SAM and OIG reporting 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or other related field or 2-5 years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Experience in staff training and development, onboarding or other related HR function.
  • Positive and energetic personality 
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint

Certificates

  • Certification through the Society for Human Resource Management is preferred 

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations
  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at times 
  • Must be able to travel to each NMHSI office location as needed
