Position Title : GRANT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Department : Instructional Services

Location : Washington County Service Center (Hillsboro)

Reports To : Executive Director of Instruction

Compensation : Classified Salary Schedulem Range DD

Bargaining Unit : OSEA

FTE : 1.0

Work Days : 220

General Description :

In alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, the Grant Development Specialist is

responsible for contributing to the development and execution of the Northwest Regional ESD's

grant development, writing, management and reporting systems for the 20 component school

districts and the ESD. To accomplish these tasks, the Grant Development Specialist works

closely with the Executive Director of Instructional Services, NWRESD Administration, and

component school district staff and administration to achieve stated financial and program

goals.

Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform

each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the

knowledge, skill and / or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

1. Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism or related field; or equivalent

combination of education and / or equivalent training and / or professional experience.

2. Three or more years of successful experience in writing for grants, communications,

journalism, or other comparable writing experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES :

1. Experience successfully writing, editing, and proofreading grant applications.

2. Knowledge of governmental and nonprofit policies and online grant submission

processes.

3. Demonstrated ability to manage the distribution and delegation of multiple projects

simultaneously and track work outcomes

Essential functions : Include the following. Performs some or all of the following tasks.

Other Duties may be assigned . The duties listed below are not inclusive, but characteristic

of the type and level of work assigned for this position.

A. Generate the development, writing and submission of grant proposals and

supporting documents to appropriate funding organizations.

B. Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing, planned, and

future program activities.

C. Coordinate with various contract grant writers and consultants to meet grant

submission and reporting deadlines.

D. Contribute to the generation of grants and contracts that grow the programs in

our 20 districts and the Instructional Services Department at NWRESD.

E. Collect, analyze, and report data on the performance of program activities.

F. Work with the Regional Planning Team to align grant resources across the

organization to align with Strategic Planning and priorities.

G. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
