Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a team-oriented Pharmacist to join our Team!
This position will likely be 1-shift per week!
Provides services within the licensure of a pharmacist in the State of Idaho, to include the acquisition, storage and dispensing of pharmaceuticals ordered by physicians. Reviews orders, maintains patient profiles and evaluates medication interactions to assure effective and cost-efficient dosing. Maintains a hospital formulary and assures that the acquisition, storage, dispensing and documentation of all pharmaceutical and narcotics is performed in a safe and effective manner and meets the standards outlined by the Idaho Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Idaho Department of Public Safety, Idaho Department of Health and The Joint Commission. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, medication reconciliation, patient education, clarification of orders, knowledge of electronic medical record and maintenance of the medical record, knowledge of software supporting medication administration and ability to assist any and all providers requiring pharmaceutical direction. In addition to pharmacist duties, will be responsible for oversight of clinical decisions in the absence of the Pharmacy Director. Will assist with future planning of department and departmental goals. Will be responsible to provide guidance to staff regarding goals of department and assist with implementation of departmental goals. Will serve as primary pharmacy liaison to providers in pharmacy director absence.
