This position will require rotating shifts on weekends and holidays. A minimum 6-week orientation program will be provided which includes rotating shifts between 7a-3:30p/3p-11:30p and 11p-7:30a. After the orientation and validation of skills the employee will work on a permanent change of Tuesday to Saturday from 3p-11:30p with on-call requirements.
The OR Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
As a member of the surgical team, this role provides support services to the surgical patient, and OR team. The ORA is responsible for transporting patients post-operatively from the recovery room to Same Day Surgery and direct from the OR to nursing units as assigned. The ORA is responsible for additional functions including assisting in general cleaning, movement of equipment, specimen and blood products transport and assisting with patient care. This position promotes efficiency in the operating room for our surgical patients and the OR team.
