Description

The Dialysis Technology Coordinator serves as a member of a clinical team and focuses on implementing hemodialysis to patients with impaired renal function under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The Dialysis Technology Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the dialysis technician prepares the technical aspects of the dialysis equipment for a safe and effective treatment. The technician correctly responds to changes in the patient's condition during and after dialysis and practices within the scope of responsibility of the dialysis technical coordinator to include: Cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and tearing down as well as safety checks on the computer operated equipment (COBE and Phoenix machines); Performs daily water treatment monitoring (chloramines and water hardness test); Performs monthly SOLO maintenance (cleaning and disinfection, minor repairs); Maintains water treatment system (AAMI and LAL water quality test); Collects monthly dialysis machine cultures. Qualifications

Required: - High School Diploma and 2 years experience as Dialysis Technician - Basic Computer Skills. Desired: - Dialysis Technician certification - College degree.
