Northwood Academy Charter School is Hiring an IT Coordinator Near Philadelphia, PA

Position Summary: The IT Coordinator is responsible for the management inventory of, and technical support for, all student and staff computers, laptops, desktops, tablets, personal devices, electronic white boards and associated classroom technology in support of curricular and administrative programs. In this role, the IT Coordinator works with the staff and students to problem-solve all IT issues and is responsible for IT projects and training. The IT Coordinator works independently with supervision within Northwood’s stated procedures and policies.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Manage the configuring and maintenance of the current version of Windows OS file servers and directory services in conjunction with infrastructure support company. • Manage Wi-Fi.
  • Install, manage, and support various software applications used by the staff and students.
  • Troubleshoot all hardware issues and develop resolution protocols.
  • Manage, configure, and maintain new and existing computer hardware and programs (i.e., MMS and Primero Edge).
  • Provide training to staff and students on a wide variety of computer hardware and application software. • Assist in the evaluation, recommendation and acquisition or development of new technologies.
  • Manage help desk and network users.
  • Assist with all AV needs.
  • Coordinate all Google apps.
  • Maintain Website.
  • Manage ordering equipment, programs, and parts as needed and maintains good relations with the vendors.
  • Coordinate parent mass email roll out and schoolwide lottery.
  • Communicate with school administration and leadership on all relevant matters as directed.
  • Under the guidance of the DOO, develop, implement and keep current Northwood Academy’s Technology Plan.
  • With the direction of the Principal and the two (2) Assistant Principals, include in the Technology Plan the educational technical advances expected of each grade cohort. Research and communicate to Administration and staff ways to execute this plan.
  • Develop a tracking system for growth.
  • Relevant duties as assigned by school administration.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a school environment preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Windows OS file servers, workstations and directory services.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology programming and the ability to support the development of new educational technology initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of network systems and workstation configuration, TCP/IP protocols, wiring infrastructure.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in installing, managing, and supporting a myriad of software application packages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access for productivity tasks.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting and issue resolution protocols skills. • Experience with HTML, Web Page Design, FrontPage and IIS.
  • Excellent visual and graphic design skills.
  • Proficient in user training in a variety of applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with and lead others, as needed.
  • Strong help desk skills.

Working Conditions: This job is performed in a professional school environment. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Physical Requirements: Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at varying distances.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,000.00 - $73,500.00 per year
