Northwood has Undergraduate Internships available!
Counselor Interns are responsible to assist with the day-to-day care and supervision of students. Counselor Interns provide a constructive model for students to emulate, teach various coping and communication skills, physical and social skills, and help students develop cultural awareness and spiritual opportunities. These responsibilities are met through the Counselor Intern’s involvement with students and through the creation of a living and learning environment that offers a variety of opportunities to serve/meet students’ recreational, intellectual, social and emotional needs.
Qualifications
All interns must be at least 21 years of age (or qualify for a waiver). All internships must be arranged through an academic program and are unpaid. Internships are arranged for the primary benefit of the intern. Interns are typically pursuing psychology, sociology, social work or similar degrees. Interns spend 15 hours/week interning at our agency during the course of the semester.
