Nothing Bundt Cakes is Hiring a Bakery Manager Near Suffolk, VA

JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager Position Summary: The manager is responsible for running the bakery and coordinating the departments of baking, decorating, and guest services. In addition, assists the manager with scheduling employees and handling team member issues. This person is a key carrier. Teamwork and guest services are the top priorities.

  • Scheduling day-to day staffing matrix.
  • Monitor email.
  • Price/order retail and kitchen products.
  • Monitors inventory.
  • Day to day policy decisions.
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the bakery and the team.
  • Arrange for repair of bakery equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Oversee the appearance and maintenance of the delivery van (if applicable).
  • Uphold the image, brand, and culture.
  • Exceed guests’ expectations
  • Is highly organized and resourceful, can balance multiple priorities and demonstrates strong follow-up skills.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess situations and identify issues, develop possible solutions and take the appropriate courses of action.
  • Demonstrates strong learning agility, with a passion to grow and excel.
Education, Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of guest-facing experience in a retail, restaurant, or food service environment, preferably in a lead role with progressive managerial responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success creating a superior guest experience and coaching others to do the same, training new team members, directing the work of others, and achieving productivity goals.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with comfort in learning new technologies. Typing skills 60 wpm.
  • Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
  • Positive attitude, good communications skills, and an understanding of an ability to implement a team approach in the bakery.
  • Solid understanding of guest services.
  • Cash register skills necessary.
Work Availability:
  • Must have the flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on changing business demands.
