Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Safety and Loss Control Manager to oversee safety programs and loss prevention initiatives within the Midwest region. The Sr. Safety and Loss Control Manager will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
• Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices to minimize accidents and injuries.
• Collaborate with operational teams to develop and implement loss prevention strategies and controls to mitigate risks and minimize financial losses.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety incidents, inspections, training, and compliance activities.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in safety and loss control to ensure the organization remains proactive and compliant.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders on safety and loss control matters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field required
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety management or loss control, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, or similar preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to travel within the Midwest region as needed.
