NOVA Engineering and Environmental is Hiring an Engineering Technician (CMT) Near Norcross, GA

Established in 1996, NOVA was originally founded to provide Environmental Consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services to the design and construction community, largely in the southeastern United States. Since our founding, NOVA has added additional service lines such as Facilities and Building Envelope, Forensics, Municipal and more. NOVA Engineering is seeking Engineering Technician (Materials Testing) in our Norcross, GA office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Primary duties performing soils inspections and QA/QC tests. Some travel is required. The position will be predominately field located.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, asphalt
  • Threshold Inspections / Special Inspections (CMU Masonry, Concrete Reinforcement, Light Gauge Metal Framing, and Wood Framing)
  • Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
  • Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
  • Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
  • Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company

Requirements:

  • ICC Soils Certification is preferred
  • 2 years applicable experience with soils and concrete testing is required
  • The ability to read plans & specifications

Preferred:

  • ICC Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, etc)
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Level 1
  • Nuclear Density Gauge certification
