How You'll Perform The RoleContinuously safely perform all required tasks, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
- Mechanically set up and operate bag machine and support equipment in conversion of paper to bags.
- Ensure that bags are being produced according to our quality requirements and specifications.
- Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
- Utilize lockout/tagout as required, following established policy; ensure guarding is in place at all times.
- Keep work area clean and organized, per 5S standards.
- Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required.
- Make sure machinery is running properly and safely, meeting all production goals set by management.
- Guide employees in working area.
- Adjust and make sure machines are repaired as instructed by Adjuster Supervisor.
- Must be able to legibly fill out all reports and be able to perform job duties of other classifications on a relief basis.
- Must be able to assist in training and retraining of new employees.
- Make sure all waste is kept to a minimum and meets standards set forth by management.
- Meet/achieve safety, quality, production, waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Must:
- have mechanical skills such as reading and interpreting blueprints and job orders to determine production specifications and accurately using various measuring, hand, and power tools.
- have basic reading, math, and communication skills.
- have the ability to make adjustments and minor repairs, with good working knowledge of machinery.
- be able to problem solve when working around machinery.
- be able to communicate effectively with management and hourly employees.
- be able to read and interpret machine drawings and parts manuals.
- be able to correctly read a ruler and use various hand tools/industrial equipment.
