As a Network Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting critical missions through your expertise in network operations and maintenance. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with sophisticated network security capabilities and support operations that are vital to national and global security.

Key Missions Supported:

  • JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack): Centralized network security suite.
  • Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS): Technical and operational support for DoD Gateway facilities.
  • Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Operations Support.
  • Missile Defense Agency Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Communications Network.
  • Operational Engineering, Service Activations, Performance Management, Configuration Management, Administration, and Security.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek solutions to resolve monitoring errors through research and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot network issues using router commands, understanding loops, alarms, and errors, alongside other advanced troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Employ network monitoring tools to identify, track, and resolve issues efficiently, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Efficiently create and update incident tickets utilizing Remedy.
  • Address networking technologies issues on a live, global network infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum education: High school diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security CE or equivalent) upon starting.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, and performance management.
  • Expertise in routers, switches, crypto devices, routing protocols, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching.
  • A general understanding of network topologies, including transport and IP networks.
