Job Summary
As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the sales initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a high-performing sales team, cultivate key client relationships, and ensure the overall success of sales efforts. We are seeking a Sales Leader experienced in high volume, short sales-cycle transactions capable of working directly with the Sales Manager and AE's to drive market share and revenue growth whilst growing the team and developing a high-performance sales culture.
This is a hybrid/remote role but will require the successful candidate to be within commuting distance of the New York office to be in a position to attend the office frequently as required.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales, marketing, and product development efforts.
  • Deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
  • Work with the Executive Team to develop growth strategies and maximize new opportunities.
  • Implement robust sales management processes including pipeline, account planning, forecasting, and onboarding.
Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Measure and analyze productivity and effectiveness of sales managers and salespeople.
  • Drive a results-oriented culture, ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales targets.
  • Manage client retention programs and minimize client churn to < 10% per annum.
  • Mentor sales leaders and teams on best practices to maximize potential and effectiveness.
Client Relationship Management
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with the client success team to ensure seamless client experience and satisfaction.
  • Attend client and prospect meetings as required.
Market Analysis and Insights
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
  • Utilize market insights to identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
Revenue Forecasting and Reporting
  • Develop accurate and timely sales forecasts.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on sales performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives.
Job Specifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Industry Expertise: I n-depth knowledge of the legal industry and relevant domains.
  • CRM Proficiency: Skilled in using CRM systems for data-driven insights and customer relationship enhancement.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiar with various customer support technologies.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills for interpreting metrics and making data-driven decisions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of legal regulations and industry standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills to inspire and manage teams.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong skills for resolving client issues and improving support processes.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align initiatives with business goals and contribute to long-term strategies.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to industry trends and customer needs.
  • Budget Management: Proficient in budget planning and management.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation skills for stakeholder collaboration.
  • Training and Development: Experience in designing training programs for team development.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel required, at least three times annually. Additional travel discretionary.
