SUMMARY
Leads team to achieve department goals through planning and delegation of daily work tasks. Responds and takes action related to safety, quality, warehouse and people opportunities within their department. Coordinates training efforts for new employees and continuously coaches and develops employees within the Warehouse team. Ability to work in all areas of the Receiving warehouse to support the team, including ability to work in Receiving at the Sparks facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
Supports a culture of safe warehouse and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP’s, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures. Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately. Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
PERFORMANCE ABILITY
Knowledge and ability to work in all work centers in the Warehouse to make decisions on resource allocation and scheduling on a daily basis. Monitors shift’s performance and efficiency throughout the day and corrects or escalates issues. Coaches and leads team members on correct processes and procedures through daily touch points and paperwork review. Demonstrated ability to consistently meet quality, safety and efficiency goals. Excellent problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate to team members from various backgrounds and ability to effectively coach, mentor and train staff. Strong teambuilding skills; ability to motivate, lead, and give clear and concise directions to team members; ability to communicate effectively with others; excellent attention to detail skills; and demonstrated high quality of work. Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and calmly handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate a strong sense of urgency; and flexibility to change tasks frequently and work in different work centers and locations as business needs require. Leads by example and acts as a role model on the floor; models NOW’s core values, tenets and servant leadership; and assumes accountability for actions. Consistently follows all company policies and procedures, including all safety policies and procedures.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (S.O.P.). Ability to accurately complete sanitation/Warehouse paperwork. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Bi-lingual verbal and written skills in Spanish preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to understand weights and measures and to use scales. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Excellent problem solving ability. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel; ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or grasp controls of lift trucks; use feet to depress foot controls of lift trucks; and use a computer. The employee is required to access product on floor or low shelves; and to operate a hand truck or forklift with a 24 inch step. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Ability to go to heights of up to 26 feet when operating PIT. The employee is regularly required to use a computer.
The employee must regularly lift, move (in some cases drag items), raise and/or place:
- Palletize boxes and unload conveyor onto trailer - Lift up to 50 lb. boxes from floor to 36 inches. Lift up to 25 lbs. from waist to overhead.
- Move pallets - Raise up to 55 lb. box from floor to one side, carry up to 10 feet and return to original position.
- Load pallet - Lift up to 38 lbs. from 5 inches to 36 inches and return to 5 inches.
- Load pallet onto order picker - Lift up to 15 lbs. from waist to waist height with 90 degree turn.
- Move pallet jacks - Push and pull with force of up to 42 lbs. at 36 inch height.
- Open and close overhead dock doors and trailer doors - Pull down with 70 lbs. of force from 75 inches and pull up with 70 lbs. of force from 9 inches.
- Grasp up to 80 lbs. of force.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
When working at the Sparks manufacturing facility, the employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some classified as allergens or irritants. This position works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging. Frequently exposed to all of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), Wheat and Soybeans, except for peanuts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, and in some areas where louder hearing protection is required.
