Drives from the Bloomingdale and / or Roselle, IL facilities to locations in the Chicagoland area with a focus on daily deliveries to and from the Bloomingdale manufacturing facilities to the distribution center in Roselle.
Daily backhauls from various locations will bring drivers back to the Bloomingdale or Roselle, IL location daily for the end of the shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warehouse Duties :
Driving Duties :
Performs all required safety checks (i.e. pre / post trip) including inspections of tractor / truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations;
inspects tractor / truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed.
Immediately reports all safety issues and / or repairs required.
Checks and accurately and legibly completes all required paperwork associated with freight.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
Supports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities.
Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP's, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures.
Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately. Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention.
Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates on safety teams and / or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Two to three years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years required.
PERFORMANCE ABILITY
Drives a tractor trailer or straight truck on local routes in the Chicagoland area to pick-up, deliver and at times unload various food grade products safely in accordance with all company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required, including ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
Follows all federal and / or state laws, regulations, and / or agency rules, standards and guidelines. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
CDL Class A license with Air Brake Endorsement required. Demonstrated ability to consistently meet quality, safety and efficiency goals.
Excellent problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate to team members and customers.
