Job Description: The Rail Car Lead Technician will be responsible for the safe unloading of PVC from railroad cars into our silo’s using approved equipment in a safe and secure manner including the following:

  • Record operating data for cars i.e., car number/type
  • Set brakes, de-railers, chalks, and blue flags per FRA and AAR regulations
  • Verify Rail Car Number with Consist
  • Transfer material from cars using provided equipment
  • Make sure all hose connections are secure
  • Monitor movement of material from Rail Cars to silo’s
  • Operate Industrial Trucks, unloaders, transfer units
  • Experienced in wearing fall protection
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather
  • Be familiar with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 standards

Other Requirements:

  • Other Requirements:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • E-track Safety Training (Preferred but will train)
  • OSHA 10 and 30 General Industry
  • Able to operate heavy equipment such as Forklifts and Skid Loaders
  • Safety Oriented
  • Thick Skin
  • Reports to Rail Supervisor in EHS Group
  • Works also with purchasing and production
  • Computer Skill: Word, Excel, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
