Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: DIRECTOR, AGRONOMY OPERATIONSABOUT EMPLOYER:Established, highly-respected Agronomy retailer/services provider offering their customers a variety of affordable Ag chemical, fertilizer and seed offerings, soil sampling and custom application services,. Located in Southwestern Minnesota in a nice-sized, rural community, this Employer also offers a state-of-the art Ag chemical warehouse, new fertilizer plant, bulk fuel, tire shop, c-store and excellent customer service. Employees enjoy working in the family-friendly atmosphere where management focuses on helping their employees gain knowledge and training so that they can succeed in their roles.
About AreaThis community offers great schools, library, hospital, grocery store, Walmart SuperCenter and restaurants. The area is full of parks with nature trails, 18-hole golf course, outdoor recreational area featuring swimming pool, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court and other outdoor recreational opportunities for adults and children. Also within the area is a state park with lake offering camping, boating, hunting, and fishing opportunities. Community is within a 1 hour drive of a 23,000 population area and 2.5 hour drive of a major urban area.
This employer is assisting Employer in finding an experienced Agronomy Operations Manager looking to promote upwards to a Director of Agronomy Operations role. Primary responsibility will be to direct/promote/coordinate all agronomy-related operations in a manner that will optimize the market share and savings of Employer, will improve the efficiency of Employer and will help to achieve the mission and goals of Employer, all while achieving outstanding customer service. Additionally, this Director will have responsibilities including personnel supervision, marketing, profitability and sales, reporting, procurement, resale pricing, inventory, service, maintenance, environmental compliance and other duties as assigned by General Manager. This Director will also be called upon to mirror a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the Agronomy division as well as throughout the organization and community. This Director will work closely with the Director of Agronomy Sales and Marketing and both will report directly to the General Manager.

Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year Agronomy or Ag-related degree preferred
- Experience managing a profit center within an Agronomy organization including developing/implementing an annual marketing plan and developing an annual sales/promotion program
- 5 years or more of Agronomy Operations Management experience including procurement, inventory, safety, environmental/government compliance, equipment/facility maintenance and customer service
- Experience directing/managing/mentoring Agronomy operations personnel including hiring, training, performance reviews and firing
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
