Job DescriptionHow You Can Be the Impact
- Assist in development and implementation of site initiative to drive Health & Safety performance.
- Own and drive one or more SHEM Elements/Sub-Element. (SHEM = corporate management system related to EHSS)
- Key to this role will be to driving Culture, Compliance, Education and Training employees at all levels on regulatory requirements, driving/implementing/improving the Safety Culture per current initiatives and/or future initiatives.
- May work closely with Medical Department on various cases, including workers comp, return to work fitness for duty.
- Lead and/or assist in incident investigations or review incidents for thoroughness.
- Lead, coach and mentor other members of Health & Safety as needed.
- Create alignment and consistency between units for Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
- Make recommendations on Health & Safety practices.
- Periodically perform audits in the field.
- Perform applicable data mining and suggest ideas for areas of concern.
- Participate/Lead Safety and Health and efforts during Unit or Site Outage
- B.S. in Occupational Safety & Health or related science or engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 -10 years experience in a manufacturing setting (construction safety outage experience required)
- Certified Safety Professional preferred but not required.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company as well as external regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills and experience implementing effective Health & Safety programs / improvements
