Basic Job Functions:The Purchasing Manager will oversee and direct all aspects of the purchasing function for the organization, including inventory management, cost control, contract negotiation, and development of purchasing strategies to meet future business needs. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of market trends and supply chain dynamics
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field OR 20 experience
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control systems.
Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract management
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
