The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly Wage: $13.88

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Performs entry-level rehabilitation therapy work. Workinvolves providing rehabilitative services to clients with mental impairmentsat Pathways, a crisis respite 24-hour program. Work includes supervision of clients and their activities, observing andreporting client conditions and behaviors and interacting with clients in acrisis residential manner. Communicating with collateral staff, managing unit conditions andparticipating in required training programs. Works autonomously utilizing independent judgment and communicatingnecessary information to appropriate staff. Works under close supervisionwith minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Shifts are flex. This position is primarily 4pm - 12am. Must be flexible.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation froma standard senior high school or equivalent. Must have experience intherapeutic work. Work involves providing rehabilitative services to clientswith mental impairments.

Musthave reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business.Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a gooddriving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
• Knowledge of the therapeutic methods and techniques in the rehabilitation therapy area of specialization.
• Ability to provide rehabilitative therapy
