Title:

  • Desktop Hardware Analyst

Terms:

  • W-2, Contract, Onsite, Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM EST

Location:

  • Midtown, NYC (onsite at client location)

Summary:

  • We are seeking a Desktop Hardware Technician to join our team, specializing in the physical relocation and setup of computer equipment for our users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in moving and setting up desktop hardware, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless transition for our users.
  • In this role, you will visit the staff deskside and have one-on-one interaction with the employees. You will be providing additional details on computer builds, deployments, and gathering information from the user on personal preferences and answer any questions they have regarding the computer equipment, OS, and applications.
  • You must possess superior communication and customer service skills, must have the ability to interact with all levels of staff (attorney and non-attorney), have experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Responsible for installing the computer image via SCCM, performing quality control, and installing the physical equipment at the desk. You will also be responsible for labeling and keeping track of inventory and returned equipment.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently. Lifting and moving of computer equipment is required; will be crawling underneath desks, etc.
  • You will represent the IT department and must be professional, friendly, and supportive.

Responsibilities:

  • User Relocation: Coordinate and execute the physical relocation of users’ desktop hardware, including computers, monitors, peripherals, and related equipment.
  • Setup and Configuration: Set up and configure desktop hardware at new locations, ensuring all equipment is operational and connected to the network.
  • Standing Desks: setup and configure standing desks, ensuring they are properly configured for users.
  • Imaging Computers: Perform computer imaging tasks, including installing operating systems, software applications, and configuring user settings.
  • Other tasks include and are not limited to troubleshooting general computer problems related to Microsoft Office applications, Operating System issues, Active Directory administration, networking issues, printing problems, etc.
  • Building and Imaging Desktop Operating Systems.
  • General Network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Desk phone support and Mobile Device Management of iPhones and Android

Qualifications:

  • Computer Training or Work Experience in a technology field
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft technologies and products
  • Familiarity with telecom and mobile device technologies
  • Outstanding Customer Service skills – Professional, Friendly, and Courteous
  • Resourceful with ability to manage tasks and issues independently
  • Strong team player with exceptional communication skills
  • Proficiency and organization are a must to perform the job effectively
  • Knowledge of network topology, wireless networking and SCCM
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively complete designated job assignments under significant time and supervisory pressure
  • Ability to rapidly translate between the technical and non-technical sides of a situation in a way that ensures understanding and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and independently as necessary
  • Lifting and moving of computer equipment is required
