Purpose: To provide training support and peer leadership across the shift as a representative of our company culture and team development. This role is extremely important as the selected candidate will be responsible for training and enhancing skills/competencies of our team members (TMs) on the Production team. Role: Under direction of the Production Manager, the technical trainer’s role is to work independently with the L&D Team to prioritize and balance training needs for both new and existing TMs. New TMs - the Technical Trainer trains all new TMs on systems, equipment, functions, and procedures, keeping safety integrated in all aspects of the training. Existing TMs - the Technical Trainer trains existing TMs on identified skill gaps or refresher training regarding systems, equipment, functions, and procedures (including updated procedures), keeping safety integrated in all aspects of the training. Additionally, the Technical Trainer works closely with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to provide feedback on training programs, resources, and TMs progress. Technical Trainer could potentially train multiple team members concurrently. Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities: General Responsibilities Successfully performs regular job duties including, but not limited to following all safety rules, quality standards, GMPs, FDA/ISO regulations/guidelines, and the use of the proper safety equipment at all times Must be able to conduct training with individuals or groups in various environments including live production lines, down lines, and technical training lab Will primarily work dayshift, but must maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24/7 business operation Assist in troubleshooting and resolving routine problems when available and assist other TMs in doing the same Communication/Collaboration Responsibilities Conduct training updates in pre-shift meetings as needed Communicate training needs to the L&D Team, as they will be overseen by them and the Production Manager Keep team member’s leadership team informed of the development of team members and challenges incurred Direct all TMs to training/learning resources such as LMS, EAP, & the L&D team Be receptive to direction and feedback from the L&D team on adult learning principles and techniques, including train the trainer & development opportunities Assists as a subject matter expert (SME) to provide input and feedback for the development and creation of training materials and resources as needed Support plantwide Communication Days and communication of required quarterly training status People Leadership - Lead authentically with a passion and capability to transparently engage, motivate, and move people toward the achievement of our desired goals Lead Self Understands and models the values and culture of the company Knows oneself and understands leadership impact Models transparency and learns from mistakes Courageously aligns words and actions Serves as a positive team player that works to find solutions and builds team morale Leads Others Empowers others and models accountability Adjust training style to fit the team member accordingly Builds trusting and caring relationships with all team members Leads cross-company teamwork and collaboration Mentors and aids Operators and Leads that are training new TMs to help them overcome challenges and obstacles; willing to provide appropriate feedback whether its positive or developmental Leads Forward Inspires others and is optimistic about the future Thinks critically and acts strategically Champions change to grow the business New & Existing TM Responsibilities Communicate with & train all new and current TMs on all components of the production line and packaging equipment aligned with the schedule for new TMs and as needed for existing TMs Properly complete all necessary training documentation and provide documentation to the L&D team Complete check-ins with new TMs on their shift by: Introducing themselves Following up each shift Scheduling a break/lunch with them as recommended Perform Pay for Skills (PFS) assessments and provide the results and notes to the L&D team Cross train new and existing TMs on various job functions and procedures as needed Re-train current employees on systems, equipment, functions, safety, & procedures Assist supervisors in evaluating technical skills of TMs to identify skill gaps and training needs Assist in communicating and training process changes and quality procedure/specification changes Administrative Responsibilities Utilize & maintain Outlook calendar to organize individual’s schedule, production training times, meetings, and assessments; calendar should be updated & maintained daily Partner with Production Manager and Production Supervisors to schedule on the job training in alignment with the production schedule and needs Record detailed records of training performed & provide hard or electronic copies to L&D Update Microsoft Teams PFS tracking when assessments are conducted Partner with production, quality, process engineering, and safety departments to improve documented processes, including the support of developing Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and teaching others how to develop SWIs Production Support Responsibilities When exceptions occur based on business needs, assist in operating the production line(s) and packaging equipment in accordance to SWIs and expectations Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so. Schedule personal training events each quarter on shift to stay current with process and changes Education and experience requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least a Tech 7 or Op 7 in current role Must be computer literate with basic Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable with all current FQ operating systems and be willing to learn any new system that will be introduced to FQ.
