Nutramaxlabs Laboratories is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Leader Near Lancaster, SC

Summary of the Position:
The Continuous Improvement Leader of Lighthouse Learning System, Nutramax's system for continuous improvement and enterprise transformation, will lead the implementation, sustainment, and kaizen of the Lighthouse Learning System. The Continuous Improvement Leader of LLS will provide hands on engagement required to enhance Nutramax's culture of continuous improvement and pursuit of excellence. The Continuous Improvement leader of LLS will partner closely with intra department leaders to help identify, lead, and complete continuous improvement projects using the tools, techniques of LLS.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Building Culture and Capability:
    • Coach the manufacturing operation with the use of lean tools, techniques and behaviors through influencing, often without authority.
    • Support the creation of tools, techniques and training to document and spread the continuous improvement methodology of the Lighthouse Learning System.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing operations to understand where gaps exist within the department and develop tools, techniques, and training to fill the gaps.
    • Develop systems capable of spreading new capabilities across the plant.
    • Lead a cross-functional community of associates responsible for determining gaps in systems, capability, tools and techniques then develop solutions to solve for the gaps.
    • Work with outside consultants and coaches who can accelerate Nutramax's evolution.
    • Support & follow the direction of the Lighthouse Learning Systems director/management.
  • Transformational Improvement:
    • Partner with manufacturing operations departments to build the capabilities so Nutramax can achieve its ten-year vision, fulfill its long-term mission, and live out its core values daily.
    • Participate/ facilitate and lead the kaizen events to reduce lead times, increase flow, enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
    • Work with the leadership team to identify and prioritize lean efforts/Value Streams which drive business results.
    • Focused on the use of lean thinking to create flow, establishing pull, 5S, Visual Management, creation of capable standard work, adherence to standard work, and solid implementation of rigorous problem solving
    • Utilized the Lighthouse Leadership library of assets and tools
    • Mentor and develop team in alignment with company mission, corevalues, and leadership model.
    • Other tasks asrequired per management.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or related discipline desired (or equivalent education/ training/ experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of documented lean experience and/or hands-on experience in leading complex processes, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, product development, or related enterprise functions and processes.
  • Work under the direction of the director/management of Lighthouse learning systems and be part of the overall LLS team.
  • Extensive Gemba based continuous improvement, strong proficiency in lean tools/techniques required
  • Excellent leadership skills particularly with influencing, coaching and teaching capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and hourly associates
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of business processes and related
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and KPI management
  • Excellent organizational and leadership
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Broad experience in lean manufacturing and driving increased velocity and flow across manufacturing.
  • Capable of operating independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create strong internal and external relationships
  • Dedicated, accountable and results-oriented, with a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications required (Excel, Word, Visio, and PP)
