Nutter Corporation is Hiring a Fleet Maintenance Manager - Construction and Heavy Equipment Near Vancouver, WA

Nutter Corporation is a leading northwest heavy civil contractor building roads, commercial developments, schools, subdivisions, railroads, and underground utilities in SW Washington & Oregon with our headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and have a passion for construction!

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate tasks and activities of the company’s fleet and equipment repair shop
  • Ensure timely repair of gas-and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and excavation equipment such as Dozers, Loaders, Excavators, etc.
  • Operate and understand diagnostic equipment to determine necessary repairs
  • Assign work orders to mechanics and coordinate with dispatch when maintenance is to be performed
  • Coordinate the timely delivery and competitive pricing of parts with vendors and establish and maintain vendor relationships
  • Manage and oversee the shop mechanics including the daily workflow and schedules
  • Communicate regularly with mechanics in the field and management
  • Track equipment repairs and work orders
  • Implement and maintain database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment
  • Work with equipment manufacturers to ensure that warranty items are being addressed, and that PM schedules are being followed per their manufacturer recommendations
  • Inspect work in progress to assure conformance with established maintenance and repair practices
  • Oversee shop inventory, order parts, shop supplies, and equipment
  • Hire and train shop employees which includes continuous training that benefits the mechanics’ development
  • Ensure safety compliance and documentation with DOT and FMCSA
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational or technical training is preferred
  • 5 or more years experience in fleet and heavy equipment management is required, including management and supervisory experience
  • Possess strong mechanical experience and understand gas and diesel engines, hydraulics and construction equipment
  • Must be comfortable using and learning modern technology including Microsoft Office and associated programs; fleet management software experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Goal oriented, highly motivated self-starter and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Collaborate effectively with employees and co-workers and have ability to work well with others
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with strong time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of work

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
