ResponsibilitiesNV5 is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Geotechnical Staff Engineer for our Orlando, FL office. The Orlando office provides consulting engineering services which include geotechnical engineering services and construction materials testing services. While a significant percent of our client base is private/commercial, we also perform public sector work.

• Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.
• Perform geotechnical exploration including soils borings, concrete and asphalt evaluations for various geotechnical studies.
• Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, geotechnical analyses including slope stability, liquefaction, settlement, etc., and report writing.
• Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineer (MS preferred)
• Emphasis on geotechnical engineering strongly preferred.
• Successful completion of NCEES FE Exam preferred.
• 0-3 yrs professional experience preferred.
