NVA is Hiring a Veterinarian Near Columbus, GA

Description & Requirements

Are you looking to join a fun, vibrant team that knows how to make the most of the day, is constantly laughing, are experts at Dad Jokes and song lyrics, and have a movie quote that applies to every situation the day brings? Have you ever wanted to experience what Alan Jackson did, "way down yonder on the Chattahoochee"? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should join our team! We are currently looking to fill a spot on our DVM team, as sadly one of our five awesome DVMs is relocating out of state. We are a busy, vibrant small animal practice located in bustling Columbus, GA, located on the banks of the Chattahoochee. As an associate at Northside, you will see a wide caseload which includes general medicine, wellness, surgery, emergency cases, and even some exotics. You are invited to bring your own knowledge, expertise, and interests, share those with the team, and help expand the services we offer to the community. We encourage DVMs who are excited to see and do new things, and are willing to get outside of their comfort zones a little to do so. That being said, we recognize and foster each DVM's individual interests and will never ask you to treat a species you are uncomfortable with. Our DVM team works very well together and is very supportive of one another. We are all comfortable asking questions and bouncing ideas off of each other, and welcome open case discussions and advice. You would be joining a team with DVMs that range from 1-8 years in practice, which brings many different ideas and perspectives to the table, with mutual respect as the centerpiece. We are fortunate to be located in a brand new facility, which we moved into in July 2022. The new clinic is bright and spacious with 7 exam rooms, including one consultation/comfort room. We have 2 surgery suites, recovery kennels as well as boarding space, a large treatment area, 2 dental suites with dental x-rays, digital radiography, ultrasound, and a top-of-the-line laser therapy unit. Our lobby features separate cat and dog waiting areas, and the staff is Fear Free Certified. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 7:30am until 6pm, and 7:30am until 12pm on Saturdays. Appointments begin at 8am and run until 4:40pm. We are closed from 12-2pm daily to allow for lunch breaks, drop-off, phone calls, etc. DVMs work 3 full days, one half day, and every other Saturday. While there are no official on-call hours, we do ask that DVMs are reachable should a technician have a question about one of their hospitalized patients over the weekend. We would love to have a DVM interested in some emergency work, as we plan to offer extended urgent care hours in the near future, due to a high demand for after-hours veterinary care in the area. However, we do not plan to make these shifts mandatory. We have a very capable staff, which includes 2 licensed veterinary technicians, one of whom serves as Lead Technician. Most days we have 1.25-1.5 techs per doctor, and one tech is always assigned to each doctor daily. As an NVA clinic, salary and benefits are competitive. Our DVMs are paid on ProSal model, giving them the potential to earn production in addition to base salary. NVA offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, and generous CE allowances. Licensure and professional memberships are paid for as well. Relocation assistance, signing bonuses, and retention bonuses may also be available. Located just 1.5 hours from Atlanta, the area has so much to see and do. Columbus sits along the Chattahoochee river, and offers many outdoor adventures such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, zip lining, and fishing. Take a trip to Atlanta and visit the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, diverse restaurant scene, breweries, and night life! As a Hospital Leadership Team, we have worked incredibly hard to make this clinic what it has become over the last couple of years. In May of this year, we were awarded the highest award NVA grants - the Chairman's Award. We have strived to create a positive team culture that values self-care and mental health. We want to be part of the change in veterinary medicine as a whole that fosters happy, healthy employees and does not tolerate bullying or abuse from clients or coworkers. Above all, we are looking for a DVM candidate that also values these principles, wants to be part of the change, and who genuinely cares about bettering the team and practice so we can continue to grow and serve the community.
