Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000

The Director of Business Strategy and Industry Relations works for the Sr Director of Technology Strategy.
The Director of Business Strategy and Industry Relations will be responsible for:
- Working with the Business Development, Communications, Marketing, Technical, and Legal teams to implement the organization's technical strategy.
- The candidate will set up and manage a strategic business process that will review potential engagements to ensure they align with the organization's technical strategy and priorities.
- As part of setting up the business processes the candidate will define a set criteria and parameters the organization will use to determine if and how we move forward with business opportunities.
- The Director will be responsible for documenting and updating the organizations technical capabilities mapping which can be leveraged by the Technical Strategy and Business Development teams' near-term goals integral to the organization's future capability goals into this roadmap.
- The Director will also oversee the industry relationships by ensuring the companies and NY CREATES are achieving the intended goals of the partnership.
- As part of this role, the candidate will also lead the term sheet process and contract negotiations with external organizations with the assistance of legal, business development, the technical teams and others.
- The candidate will continue to work with the companies as a strategic liaison to ensure the companies and NY CREATES are meeting the objectives of the term sheets and contracts.
- Finally, the Director will work with Sr Director of Technology Strategy to turn the potential CHIPs R&D programs such as NSTC & NAPMP into an operational model.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in semiconductor technology strategy and development, Semiconductor
- business development, or a related field.
- The candidate should have experience managing others.
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering technology, or related field from a college
- or university accredited by the U.S. Dept. of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting institution.
- Bachelor's degrees in physics, chemistry, or materials science will also be considered.
- The successful candidate will possess at least seven years of experience in a management role within a large,
- complex organization that has developed a successful technology portfolio and manufacturing capability.
- Proven success working effectively with a broad array of diverse constituents including senior representatives
- from business, government and academia is required.
- Demonstrated analytical skills including knowledge of legal, corporate governance, research and global issues; outstanding interpersonal, and exceptional oral and
- written communication proficiency: the ability to prudently handle confidential and sensitive information; and
- experience with strategic planning and project management are required skill sets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional/matrix teams to achieve the organizations strategic goals.
- This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
