The following are the position functions of the Trauma Registrar:
Collect and abstract all mandated clinical indices from injury time and throughout hospital course.
Input all defined data indicators into the trauma database.
Be skilled in the use of multiple patient care data bases.
Maintain technical needs of the data base, including updates of software and as well as additions to software needs.
Ensure that policies and procedures relating to the trauma registry are maintained and updated.
Select and collate trauma data indicators for quality assurance and research initiatives.
Maintain concurrent monthly performance improvement indicators as dictated by the PI plan for trauma.
Translate all data into NTDB indicators ensuring meet data dictionary
Participate in the Regional Trauma Advisory Committee as well as the State Trauma Advisory Committee.
Assist Trauma Program Leadership in all projects assigned regarding registry and data elements.
Maintain mandated educational requirements as described by the American College of Surgeons standards for Trauma designation.
Participate in all committee meetings, clinical meetings, and daily rounding related to trauma care.
Maintain closed loop communication with TPD/Lead Registrar regarding day to day work, issues with clinical observations noted, connectivity issues, or registry issues.
General
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year Trauma database experience (NTRACS, TraumaOne, Lancet, etc.)
AAAM AIS 08 and/or 15 training
ICD-10 course within past 5 years
Trauma Registry course (ATS or equivalent) completion
Other:
CSTR certification, CAISS certificate, excel proficiency.
