NY Green Bank collaborates with the private sector to transform financing markets. It also develops transaction structures and methodologies that overcome typical clean energy investment barriers and can serve as replicable models for other capital providers.
New York is leading the nation in the fight on global climate change and the transition to a clean energy-powered economy. The Climate Act has created the most aggressive climate change goals in the nation and requires an ambitious agenda that blends proven catalysts with innovative approaches while operating across a broader energy arena that is rapidly evolving. New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a driving force in realizing this agenda. NYSERDA works with stakeholders that span residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, universities, utilities, investors, entrepreneurs, and more, to develop, invest, and foster conditions that:
  • Attract the private sector capital investment needed to expand New York’s clean energy economy.
  • Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York.
  • Enable New York’s communities and residents to benefit equitably from energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Job Overview:NYGB seeks a highly motivated individual with excellent analytic, organizational, and communications skills in a critical Analyst role on the Strategy, Impact and Communications (“SIC”) team. The Analyst, Strategy, Impact and Communications will report directly to NYGB’s Director of Strategy, Impact and Communications. This individual will work closely with the SIC team to support the full range of day-to-day activities with an emphasis on impact evaluation, reporting, and portfolio analysis. The individual will also work with teams across the organization, including Investment Portfolio Management, Risk & Compliance, Finance & Operations, and NYSERDA Performance Management, as well as with external service providers.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support and drive NYGB’s impact reporting functions, including developing quarterly metrics reports filed with the Department of Public Service, preparing quarterly metrics webinars for the public, and supporting the drafting of Annual Plans and Impact Reports.
  • Analyze investment proposals and estimate environmental impact attributable to underlying projects
  • Develop and review investment impact reporting templates to evaluate environmental performance of projects
  • Prepare a variety of portfolio-level analyses of NYGB investments and analyze key trends on a regular and ad-hoc basis to update NYGB / NYSERDA staff, including the senior management team, and inform strategy
  • Support the development of an expanded impact reporting framework for high-priority focus areas of NYGB
  • Support portfolio environmental and financial market evaluation activities
  • Maintain and organize environmental and financial impact database
  • Ad-hoc and special projects relating to NYGB’s ongoing business and operations
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required and at least 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • High competency in data analytics, visualization, and management with an ability to aggregate and extrapolate information from various data sources
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of formal and informal teams; action/results-oriented, consistently gets things done in a timely and professional manner with honed attention to detail
  • Extensive proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) along with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take ownership over a variety of projects in parallel, responding to asks across shifting priorities, and keeping initiatives moving forward to meet deadlines
  • Adaptable self-starter capable of taking on new and unfamiliar tasks as needed while working effectively in a dynamic, fluid and fast-paced organization
  • Unparalleled work ethic, able to perform under pressure and tight deadlines with a willingness to commit substantial time and energy to the success of NYGB and NYS climate goals
  • Experience working with Tableau and ArcGIS is a plus
Salary:The salary range is $73,836 - $102,189. Candidates will be considered based on qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.
