NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Brooklyn, NY

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. Supports the Cancer Services Prevention program by providing direct navigation of patients requiring MRI studies and direct navigation of patients into colorectal screening program. Provides coordination of services between cancer screening program and other departments in Family Health Centers and NYU Langone Brooklyn. Provides program support for staff member services including patient processing; ensuring quality customer service. Serves as liaison with the finance and information technology departments to ensure departmental accuracy and streamlined processes. Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning directing and coordinating operational activities to ensure the efficiency of the health center operation.
Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide oversight and coordination of colorectal, cervical and breast cancer screening programs.
  • Assists with department goals and objectives. Provides feedback to appropriate parties.
  • Ensures navigation of patients into colorectal screening program.
  • Coordinates with NYC Community Cares Project Program Specialist in connecting patients to colonoscopy services.
  • Collaborates with the NYC Community Cares Project personnel to resolve any technical issues for the Charity Care Referral Program.
  • Ensures follow up is completed for patients enrolled in Cancer Services Prevention program.
  • Collaborates with the laboratory services and the grant funder to ensure eligible patients screening tests are being paid timely and appropriate.
  • When issues are identified, solution resolution, escalate as needed and monitor until resolved.
  • Provides navigation of patients requiring MRI studies.
  • Is a team participant and understands the interdisciplinary approach to care.
  • Identifies any barriers to care or follow through and suggests/implements suitable solutions.
  • Monitor progress until resolution.
  • Reports outcomes to direct supervisor or other personnel as needed
  • Works with other departments to increase awareness of cancer screening programs.
  • Provides education regarding the program as needed. Assists with employee trainings, etc.
  • Creates, formats a variety of materials including correspondence, memos, reports, charts, statistics, minutes of meetings, etc.
  • Demonstrates EHR competency regarding workflows in place to support the program
  • Plans and assists in the coordination of meetings/special events and/or special projects as assigned.
  • Provide administrative/supervisory support to department leads and management staff of Family Health Centers as needed.
  • Submits and ensures others submit necessary paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Communicates and reports on program progress.
Minimum QualificationsTo qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Two years relevant experience

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $65,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
