Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for overseeing pharmacy services and ensuring that operational, administrative, and regulatory needs are addressed.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into duties.
    • Collaborates and supports the senior management to ensure timely, quality services in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as meeting professional standards.
    • Properly oriented in all areas of the department. Educated on the policies and procedures of the department. Trained to safely operate all equipment and be a resource of others on equipment operation. 
    • Keeps informed of all local, state and federal laws covering the storage, handling and dispensing of drugs and for interpreting medication orders to determine that it meets all legal requirements.
    • Communicates with the appropriate medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff regarding issues affecting patient care and follow up with pending issues, i.e. non formulary requests, stock outs, etc.
    • Facilitates the integration of systematic change that positively impacts the provision of care, quality and customer service.
    • Precepts pharmacy students when assigned and provides leadership for staff with mentoring and coaching to foster an environment of innovation and empowerment.
    • Routinely evaluates current processes to ensure medications are prepared, delivered and administered to patients in an accurate, safe and expeditious manner.
    • Performs inventory management activities to ensure adequatemedication and non-pharmaceutical supplies, including recalls, reverse distributor activities, and drug shortage mitigation strategies.
    • Participates in all committees/functions as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
    • Reviews and investigates medication events reported in PSI and participates in related improvement opportunities. 
    • Serves as a resource to pharmacy, nursing staff as well as other support services, such as Finance and MCIT. 
    • Responds to and appropriately escalates any needs associated with pharmacy technology, including Omnicell Medication Cabinets, Omnicell Controlled Substance Manager, DoseEdge, Epic.
    • Assists in activities related to USP 797 compliance and in the oversight of staff training and competency.
    • Performs related functions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Pharmacist License and Registration. BS Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. Residency in Hospital Pharmacy Practice preferred. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Extensive knowledge of database management and clinical/pharmacy systems.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $195,179.92 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
