O'Neill Yacht Charters is Hiring an Administrative and Marketing Coordinator Near Santa Cruz, CA

Be part of the team for Santa Cruz’s premiere catamaran sailing company: O’Neill Yacht Charters! We offer a wide variety of public and private sailing tours aboard the 65’ Team O’Neill catamaran.

The Administrative Coordinator will be the first impression customers have of O’Neill Yacht Charters (OYC) and will uphold the company's values of providing friendly, professional, and knowledgeable assistance beyond expectation. Whether it’s answering a call or replying to a comment on Instagram, the person in this role aims to make each customer interaction unique and informative.

The Administrative Coordinator is also part of the behind-the-scenes team that ensures business is smooth sailing all season long (our primary sailing season runs annually April through October). This position is primarily Wednesday through Sunday, though during times where there are no weekend charters, this position’s hours would be Monday through Friday. While working out of the harbor office, the person in this role works independently.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (subject to additional duties assigned by management):

· Be an expert on all of O'Neill Yacht Charters’ services.

· Provide friendly, professional, and exuberant customer service at all times.

· In charge of all customer relations via phone, email and social media, from booking reservations to coordinating individual events, to working through customer complaints and problems

· Schedule all public and private sails via online reservation system, ensuring dates, times and prices are accurate and up to date.

· Coordinate with and seek out new vendors for special events.

· Process all payments securely and in compliance with PCI standards.

· Sales tracking and inventory management, including supply ordering and procurement.

· Manage and distribute all charitable donations.

· Post approved, on-brand content on OYC’s social media and engage with followers.

· Assist in developing exceptional onboard passenger experiences, including new types of sails.

· Seek out new marketing/advertising opportunities and submit an annual budget.

· Execute and coordinate all marketing/advertising campaigns.

· Market/competitor research

· Write press releases and blog posts as needed and write and send regular email newsletter.

· Assist in maintenance of company website and troubleshoot issues with the Webmaster.

· Hiring, training, and supervising seasonal administrative staff.

· Create and present an annual year-end sales report.

· Periodically give on-site tours of the catamaran to prospective customers.

· Communicate directly with the Team O'Neill crew and staff.

· Maintain a cleanly, welcoming environment at OYC’s harbor office.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Be an enthusiastic people-person who enjoys going above and beyond for customers.

· Stellar written and oral communication skills, extremely organized, and detail-oriented.

· Self-motivated, yet can thrive in a team environment.

· Ability to multi-task and manage priorities as circumstances shift and new projects arise.

· Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Suite on Mac and/or Windows devices.

· Proficient skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop specifically)

· Social media savvy with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

· Creative, dynamic, and enjoys implementing fresh ideas and solutions.

· Previous experience with Square POS and the FareHarbor reservation platform is a plus.

· Email marketing experience (using Mailchimp a plus)

· Bilingual abilities (Spanish) is a plus.

DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS

· When working at the OYC harbor office, the OYC uniform shirt (provided) and khaki slacks are required.

· When working at O’Neill Wetsuits main office, casual but professional attire is acceptable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Occasionally pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.

· Ability to stand behind a desk for extended periods of time.

· Frequent standing and walking.

· Occasionally sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, and climbing stairs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
