O'Reilly Auto Parts is Hiring a Payroll Auditor Near Springfield, MO

The Analyst' primary responsibility involves the review and coordination of all payroll data for the entire company. This role will work with payroll and budget documents with a high level of computer and query skills to research, gather, format/manipulate, and report financial data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Review, reconcile and audit payroll data according to internal controls, compliance, and SOX.

Ensure payroll data needed for internal and financial reporting is accurate and up-to-date. Partner with IT to make updates as needed.

Collaborate closely with the HR Benefits team regarding retirement plan updates and changes, including coordination with the third-party retirement plan recordkeeper to ensure accurate and timely retirement plan contributions in accordance with plan requirements.

Fund the retirement plan contributions each pay cycle and maintain records to satisfy payroll related annual audit requirements.

Fund the employee stock purchase plan contributions monthly and maintain records to satisfy payroll related annual audit requirements.

Process large data sets utilizing Excel and programs using complicated formulas and macros to audit payroll data efficiently and accurately.

Answer questions or concerns from team members requiring explanation of calculations, rules and regulations governing payroll processing. Assists team members with miscellaneous questions and requests.

Provides general ledger and any other reporting necessary to the Finance and Accounting departments.

Assist with the regular duties associated with the company payroll schedule.

Participate in day-to-day payroll operations, support new and existing pay programs, and work closely with payroll processing team.

Complete month end close activities such as payroll journal entries and GL account reconciliations, as well as payroll bank account reconciliations.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

1 years of hands-on domestic and multi-company payroll or finance/accounting experience

Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality

Strong communication skills with emphasis on outstanding customer service

Ability to take initiative in a flexible fast-paced environment

Detail oriented with good time management skills

Strong analytical, data entry and research skills

Excellent problem solving and mathematical skills

Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and building/running queries

Desired:

Associates degree or higher in Finance/Accounting (equivalent experience also considered)

Prior experience with Workday and UKG
