Oak Harbor Capital, LLC is Hiring an Accounting Specialist Near Seattle, WA

Job Summary:

  • Our Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting our Senior Accountants and Controller in the preparation and posting of Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliation, Investor reporting and Balance Sheet and General Ledger Reconciliation.

JOB FUNCTIONS

The following are the essential job duties and responsibilities for this position:

  • Preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger
  • Financial reporting and month-end close process
  • Maintain accounting records on timely basis
  • Reconciliation of Bank accounts
  • Posting daily wire transfers
  • Maintain expense schedule
  • Tax returns
  • Participation in various projects on standardization, controls, audit, automation etc as required
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller on various projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience, Skills & Abilities:

  • 3 -5 years Accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced & high-volume environment with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger coding.
  • CPA or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in Fund accounting is preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Prior experience on Great Plains a huge plus
  • Deadline and detail oriented
  • Effective team player who should be able to pick activities and be a strong back up for other team members
  • Must be professional and courteous and have strong analytical, written, oral, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work fairly independently, receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance.
  • Must be able to maintain professional demeanor during stressful situations.
  • Able to interact positively and productively across functions within the organization.
  • Able to receive and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and to consistently meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Able to prioritize, plan work activities, and use time efficiently.

Education / Training:

  • Must have Associates Degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment with moderate noise level, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.
  • Ability to perform consistent work on a PC.
  • Ability to sit, use keyboard and/or telephone 8 hours / day, 5 days / week.
  • Should be able to work from office for 3 days / week.

Interactions:

This position primarily interacts with the following internal departments:

  • All Departments including Admin, IT, HR, Operations and Legal.

  • Fax machine, copier, desktop computer and/or laptop.
