About This Role
Summer Music Camp students will:
Reinforce musical and technical skills in a fun ensemble based environment
Learn Cooperative performance skills with their peers
Create a performance to demonstrate the skills learned at the camp
Essential Role Responsibilities:
Report to Summer Music Camp daily, scheduled for July 29-August 2, 2024 Monday-Friday 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School
Implement programs in orchestra and general music determined by the summer music camp coordinator and staff collectively
Facilitate morning arrival and afternoon departure of students
Take student attendance on a daily basis
Receive coaching and feedback on their teaching
Prepare for Summer Music Camp concert held on August 2, 2024
Attend Summer Music Camp teacher meeting on a date TBD

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE
Professional Educators License
Experience with teaching general, choral, and instrumental music
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the performance of light work—which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere. The position requires indoor and outdoor supervision during varying temperatures and climatic conditions.
