As Front Desk Receptionist, your job is to help supervise a daycare or preschool facility and watch over children on behalf of their parents. In this role, you will provide early childhood education, and otherwise ensure a safe and healthy environment. As an assistant director, you work under the direction of the senior director to accomplish various daily tasks, including managing paperwork, creating reports for parents, collecting payments, and providing customer service. Assistant directors often supervise other staff members and help to ensure the childcare center's compliance with both corporate and legal regulations.
DutiesStaff Supervision and Development:
Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new childcare staff.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing support to teachers and support staff.
Conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and professional development.
Collaborate with the Center Director to evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Curriculum and Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of age-appropriate, educational, and engaging curriculum.
Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding curriculum standards and child development best practices.
Evaluate and update curriculum materials and resources as needed.
Administrative Tasks:
Assist in maintaining accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, and billing.
Collaborate with the Center Director on budget planning and financial management.
Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and communication effectively and professionally.
Support the coordination of special events and activities within the center.
Safety and Compliance:
Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and maintain necessary certifications.
Conduct regular safety drills and training for staff and children.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians through open communication and regular updates.
Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences and family engagement events.
Collaborate with community organizations to enhance the center's programs and resources.
Quality Assurance:
Assist in maintaining accreditation and quality standards set by relevant agencies.
Monitor and assess program effectiveness, making improvements as necessary.
Seek opportunities for professional development and stay current with early childhood education trends.
