Role Description 

This is a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal at Oak Wood Ventures. The Paralegal will be responsible for legal document organization and review, preparation of certain documentation, organization of closing calendar and general timelines, and fine-tuning of current legal review, routing, and checklist processes. The role may also involve assisting with other legal tasks and real estate operational items.

Qualifications 

Significant experience working within and participating in commercial real estate closings 

Experience with general corporate law items 

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills 

Proficiency in document review and analysis 

Critical Thinking - excellent problem-solving and planning skills 

Experience in legal document preparation 

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 

Relevant certifications or paralegal qualifications

Extremely well-organized with the ability to handle detailed work with accuracy. 

Responsibilities

Real Estate transaction coordination experience (Title, TREC Contracts, Amendments, etc.), which includes all aspects of real estate transactions from initiation to completion 

Manage closing documents and ensure timely execution

Manage and file all documentation associated with each transaction

Work closely with sellers, buyers, and title agents to ensure smooth transaction processes

Conduct in-depth legal research using various resources such as online databases, legal publications, and libraries to support attorneys in case preparation and strategy development

Assist in preparing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other correspondence

Provide administrative support to General Counsel

Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and court procedures relevant to our practice areas, and ensure compliance with legal requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or experience in paralegal studies or a related field

Paralegal certification required

Proficiency in legal research methods and tools is preferred, including LexisNexis and Westlaw

Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications

Prior experience (3-5 years) working in a law firm, real estate firm or legal environment is required
