In this exempt position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by implementing and overseeing best practices in wound care and infection prevention.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents with chronic or acute wounds.
  • Implement and monitor effective wound healing strategies, utilizing a variety of dressings and therapies.
  • Educate staff on proper wound care techniques and best practices.
  • Design, implement, and regularly evaluate a comprehensive infection control program for the facility.
  • Conduct audits and surveillance to identify and address potential infection risks.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the highest quality of care and compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based wound care protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in wound care management, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Certification in wound care (CWOCN or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection control principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative work style.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • A passion for resident-centered care and a commitment to continuous learning.
