Alumni Activities Coordinator

Full-Time (12-months), Non-Exempt, Category 4

Salary Range: $32.00-$40.00 per hour

Reports To:Major Gifts Officer – Alumni & Families

Position Summary

As the Alumni Activities Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering connections within our alumni community. You will be responsible for meticulously planning and coordinating engaging activities and events, ensuring the alumni network remains vibrant and connected.

Responsibilities & Duties

Event Coordination:

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of major alumni gatherings, reunions, and events, ensuring they align with our objectives and resonate with our alumni community.
  • Alumni Advisory Council Support: Act as the recording secretary for the Alumni Advisory Council, facilitating meetings, documenting discussions, and ensuring follow-up on action items.

Relationship Management:

  • Collaborate closely with the Alumni Relationship Advisor to maintain strong communication channels with alumni.
  • Conduct prospect research using news feeds to gather updated information on alumni, fostering meaningful connections.

Communication and Engagement:

  • Prepare personalized congratulations letters for major life events and birthday messages, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining lifelong relationships with our alumni.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop compelling call-to-action communications targeted at alumni.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Additional support for the Advancement team as needed, additional related advancement events, cross training of advancement coordinator duties.

Qualifications:

1. Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Oaks Christian School.

2. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in fundraising, stewardship, donor relations and/or customer service preferred.

3. Ability to connect with a wide range of people.

4. Strong collaborative skills, creative, adaptable, and team-oriented.

5. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and attend school events.

6. Previous experience in event planning, alumni relations, or a related field preferred.

7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building and nurturing relationships.

9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

10. Familiarity with CRM software, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.

11. Passion for alumni engagement and commitment to upholding the values of our institution.
