OakVet Animal Specialty Hospital is a new state-of-the-art purpose-built facility and the first-ever 24-hour specialty vet and emergency hospital located in Oakland, CA. We offer specialized services including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, RadioCat I-131 treatment, and 24/7 ER services.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an ER RVT/Veterinary Technician. The RVT will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care including animal care, anesthesiology, and pet care. They will also be responsible for client education and assisting the veterinarian during medical procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work overnight/graveyard/weekend shifts
• Valid California RVT license
• 3 years of clinical experience
• 1 year of emergency experience
• Safe animal handling and restraint
• Efficient time management
• IV catheter placement & venipuncture
• Anesthetic induction, maintenance, and recovery
• Diagnostic imaging
• Diplomatic communication
• Bandage placement
• Triage
• Routine and critical nursing
• Fluid Therapy
• Customer service
• Telephone and Computer proficiency
• Knowledge of EzyVet & Smart Flow
• Weekend and Holidays Required
