Job Summary:

Join us in shaping the future of aviation! Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking an experienced Principal Database Developer to enhance our Aviation Programs Team.Our Ideal candidate will be proficient in providing database (e.g Oracle, Redis, or other designated database) engineering and development support.

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. A key component of that coordination involves the collaborative use of aviation tools and data.

Key Responsibilities:

A successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of on-premises enterprise-level database design experience and be proficient in:

• Developing automation tools for database operations
• Incorporating and/or migrating data from various and diverse sources for developing and populating database content
• Processing, storing, and making available for search real-time aircraft positional data, including radar, flight plans, and aviation-based broadcast systems
• Developing data queries, import/export data to/from various file formats, and create data and other ad-hoc reports
• Performing data analysis and make recommendations on findings for system improvements and decision-making
• Performing market research, analysis, and technical advisory support to evaluate and make recommendations for the implementation of emerging technologies into the supported systems

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Engineering, Math, or Science
• Experience supporting the FAA or other US Government clients
• Active Secret Clearance (or can obtain one)
• Analytical skills with experience in troubleshooting large-scale distributed big-data systems; documented experiences with current versions of SQL Server; MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Redis
• 3 years of experience and proficiency working with Linux, Redhat Enterprise, and CentOS
• 3 years of experience working with Agile development or DevSecOps environments; working knowledge of Agile SCRUM methodology
• Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
