OC Academy engages in academic counseling and college application services for high school students, as well as private schools application for k-12 graders. We are seeking an Economics/Finance/Investment Competition Coach for High School Students. This is a part-time position and available to work remotely from 2-10 hours/week (same times weekly), depending on your schedule. These hours can generally be sometime between 3-8pm PST weekdays or on weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Designing a one or two months short-term high-enrichment training course in Economics/Finance/Stock Investment, and drafting the relevant syllabus.
• Teaching classes according to the syllabus that focuses on the challenge/theme of the competition (mainly Microeconomics & Investments), and having students be familiar with the competition rules and regulations.
• For the investment competition, leading students to do the relevant research, data collection, stock simulation practice, risk management and having them fully ready for the competition.
• Monitoring market trends in real time during the competition, using investment portfolios and risk management appropriately, and guiding students to invest in stock trading so as to win the competition.
• For the finance competition, using the coach toolkit to help students to practice quiz repeatedly. Ensuring all the courses and practices have covered the knowledge points in the test, and having students ready for the competition.
• Tutoring students in elevator pitch (if there is one), supervising students to take and edit the pitch video, and uploading relevant projects within the stipulated time according to the competition requirements.
• If the students’ projects qualify the finalist/semi-finalist, the coach needs to accompany and instruct the student for the final presentation or award activities on site.

Requirements:

• Master/Doctor Degree of Finance, Economics or related field.
• Experienced with stock investment & personal finance investment.
• Passion in instructing & cooperating with our young competitioner; creative, innovative, responsible and patient, be very open-minded.
• Being familiar with high school investment competitions such as NEC, NPFC, GYIS or Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, previous experiences as a contestant or the winner is a huge plus!
