What You Will DoAs a People Advisor, you will support Technology Solutions in the US, reporting directly to the People Partner of your aligned business area. Exposure to additional business areas will also be required to support workload, team absence, and complex cases.
You will provide and role-model a responsive, professional advisory service to internal stakeholders, utilizing your credible expertise and knowledge to guide employees and managers across a broad range of people matters, which aligns with legislation, best practices, and Ocado’s policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Operating as the subject-matter expert, you will provide a high-quality advisory and support service to facilitate early resolution of workplace matters.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all employee relations matters, including but not limited to performance, flexible working, onboarding, short-term and long-term disability, attendance, employee relations, and corrective action in accordance with policies and procedures, legislation, and best practices.
  • Support line managers with practical advice and guidance on how to manage employee relations issues with a focus on risk reduction.
  • Provide training and advice to managers on conflict resolution as an alternative to formal employee relations procedures.
  • Where appropriate, or in line with best practice, be present in meetings acting as People Team support to all attendees, taking notes where necessary.
  • Maintain case management systems and tools to ensure accurate reporting and data analytics.
  • Inform People Partners of high-level or complex cases, especially those involving senior colleagues or with heightened risk.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive employee relations through the timely and accurate provision of advice and guidance.
  • Adopt a proactive role in the continuous improvement of the People Advisory Team leading on tasks and projects to drive alignment and process improvement.
  • Deliver training programs on appropriate subject matter.
  • Actively seek updates for any people-related legislative changes and developments to maintain best practice and reduce risk.
  • Assists in conducting straightforward cost, benefit, and risk analyses of possible solutions and the implications of not reaching an agreement.
  • Identify methods for collecting data, perform data analyses, and articulate findings.
  • Collaborate with the Advisory community to ensure processes and practices are aligned among business areas and not siloed.
Skills, Experience, And QualificationsThe Ideal Candidate will possess:Minimum
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrix organization within a People function
  • Experience working in a Generalist HR role
  • Ability to confidently liaise and manage stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Experience in complex ER matters up to and including dismissal
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • HR Management System experience (ideally Workday)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage high volumes of employee relations cases and queries at any given time
  • Good understanding of employment legislation in the United States
  • The ability to analyze people-related data and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Passionate about People
  • An advocate of continuous improvement - builds understanding of current business processes, objectives, and challenges to suggest solutions.
Preferred (in Addition To Minimum)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Extensive Workday experience and knowledge of how to use the system for advisory purposes
  • Google suite experience
  • Experience leading a people-related project
LocationYour role will be remote, however, there could be up to 50-75% travel requirements to other locations.
