As the Internal Communications Specialist, you are responsible for executing and helping to improve the internal communications strategy and processes for OCCU to ensure an engaged and informed culture. They administer OCCU internal communication channels by creating and deploying timely compelling content that engages and educates employees. They work closely with key stakeholders to ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with OCCU’s goals and values.
Every Day You Will
- Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
- Execute and manage internal communication strategy, channels and tactics on OCCU’s intranet including Today’s News, the Management Communications site and other internal communication features such as the organization wide calendar, in partnership with management.
- Create and deploy internal communication content, including news posts, management posts, email updates, videos and presentations.
- Utilize technology to execute and deploy internal communication content in the most effective way.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for continuous improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
- Develop and maintain a content/communication calendar to ensure internal communications are timely and relevant.
- Regularly demonstrate independent analysis and decision making around what content to deploy and when, based on topic, audience, urgency and reader capacity.
- Identify opportunities to promote employee recognition and engagement in internal communications and help foster a positive company culture.
- Maintain editorial consistency across internal communication channels to ensure content and communications standards and brand guidelines are met.
- Serve as internal communication representative on projects and key strategic initiatives to ensure appropriate communication is coordinated and distributed to staff as appropriate utilizing effective communication and change management methodologies.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs in order to deliver the most appropriate and effective internal communication.
- Provide feedback and recommend best practices to stakeholders around internal communication.
- Utilize and recommend effective change management on project and internal communication requests.
- Minimum two years of similar or related experience.
- Experience in developing engaging, consistent, and informative communications.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to create and manage internal communications.
- Experience with SharePoint design and administration.
- Experience using a variety of digital media to deploy effective communication.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated experience driving measurable business outcomes required.
