The Dietary Aide assists in all aspects of meal service as necessary and on a timely basis. Ensures patient satisfaction. When managers are absent, accepts direction from the cook. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures, and PI standards.
Essential Functions:

1. Prepares resident trays with utensils, napkins, glasses, condiments, salad, and dessert according to requirements and food preferences.
2. Inspects tray for correctness.
3. Prepares and serves beverages and meals in the dining room in a timely and courteous manner.
4. Arranges place settings on tables in the dining room.
5. Works on the tray line; busses tables in the dining room.
6. Fills dish machine, washes and stores dishes properly, records dish machine temperatures.
7. Sweeps and mops floors; takes out trash.
8. Cleans and sanitizes dining room, kitchen, dish room, and follows listed cleaning assignments.
9. Attends all mandatory in-services; adheres to all policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Must be able to read and to write.High school diploma preferred.Minimum six months experience in a food service environment in a nursing home or hospital setting.Must be able to read and write. Must be able to comprehend therapeutic diets. Requires ability to follow routine procedures and methods. Should be proficient in performing duties within a three-month time frame.Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral de-escalation program.Subject to many interruptions. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Heavy lifting and physical exertion. Works in kitchen with temperatures above 90 degrees at times, and exposure to a variety of chemicals.
