Oceanside Community Services has a Per Diem or Part-Time position for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work in a Private Practice located in Biddeford. This is a well-established position working with our in-office LCSW's, Neuropsychological teams, and other Medical Practitioners who specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry. It is ideal for someone interested in providing highly valued psychiatry services within a multi-disciplinary team to children and adult populations. This position also requires no "on-call" or weekend hours. Education And ExperienceNursing Degree in Psychiatry from an accredited college or university. Two years or more of experience working in community mental health is preferred. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program in Psychiatry or Mental Health
Current and valid licensure as an NP by the Maine Board of Licensure in Nursing
Current DEA Registration Certificate
Prefer two years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents
One year experience related to services provided to individuals with intellectual disability and/or mental health issues
Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to train and supervise clinicians and /or other staff as needed
Skills
Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose the nature or extent of mental disorder
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.
Request laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical conditions or mental disorders.
Advise or inform guardians, relatives, or significant others of patients' conditions or treatment.
Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other professionals, as needed.
