This job performs sales functions for Medicare Advantage plans offered by Ochsner Health Plan in accordance with established goals and plans, standard operating procedures, and appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.

EducationRequired - High school diploma or equivalent.
Work ExperiencePreferred - Bachelor’s degree.
Required - 1 year of direct healthcare insurance sales experience with a proven track record.
Preferred - Medicare Advantage Sales Experience.CertificationsRequired - A Life, Health and Accident or broker’s insurance license in state of practice.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to display good judgment and tact and properly inform prospective subscribers of Ochsner Health Plan Medicare Advantage product(s)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally to develop efficient processes to support the sales cycle.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and ability to be self-directed, work independently, and pay attention-to-detail.
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of health insurance (specifically Medicare Advantage) and its associated regulations.
  • Proven success exceeding company assigned sales quotas.
Job Duties
  • Closes sales on Ochsner Health Plan Medicare Advantage product(s).
  • Establishes and maintains productive, informative, and proactive relationships with appropriate individuals and groups.
  • Establishes and maintains leads.
  • Contacts current and prospective Medicare eligible individuals by telephone, in writing, and in person.
  • Makes individual and group presentations.
  • Assists prospects with the membership application process and otherwise.
  • Maintains records and reports.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate understanding of the healthcare products related to sales responsibility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
