General Summary
Provide support to the Williams Hall and Continuing Education that includes creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students and visitors, assists with inquiries by telephone or in-person and proper triaging to maximize efficiency. Assist with daily processes, office functions and documentation. Provide high quality customer service to current and prospective students and others visiting, calling or emailing the Continuing Education Department.
Specific Position Duties
Responsible for greeting and triaging students, community members, visitors and employees in an appropriate and timely manner; Keyboard skills with ability to produce and maintain accurate records and professional quality material; Demonstrated background in assuming responsibility, initiative, and working under pressure in a fast paced environment; Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills including spelling, punctuation, and grammar; Work record demonstrating good rapport with the public and a genuine desire to work with a diverse student population; Dependable, particularly regarding time schedules; Ability to operated standard office machines and software packages; Ability to follow procedures and quickly learn new ones, paying particular attention to detail; Demonstrated success of teamwork skills Interacts with students, staff and the community in a courteous and professional manner through telephone, email and/or personal communication; Responsible for accurately responding to inquiries about Continuing Education programs and operations and Odessa College; Provides administrative support including distribution of certificates, information packets, etc. Works as a “team player” with all staff to meet and exceed the expectations of the students, community members, visitors, and employees; Complete Direct Pay Requests as directed, Assist with set up of class sections as directed, Assist with coordination of office functions, including classroom set up/take down and orientation preparation, Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, Register students and assist students with online registration, applications, and other online requirements for their courses, Must be flexible and willing to assist during peak times of student intake; Perform other duties as required or directed.
