JOB OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTPosition Title: Junior IT Developer Division: Information Technology Classification: Exempt Location: Springfield, Illinois Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 Position Summary: This is a professional entry level position that provides application development and support for the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office (ISTO). The IT Developer supports and troubleshoots existing legacy ISTO systems. This position also works with the senior members of the Development team to develop new applications and enhancements as necessary. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance core IT applications to meet evolving business requirements.
Follow standard coding practices to ensure quality code delivery.
Perform code reviews on team members work to ensure it meets team standards
Troubleshoot and provide support for ISTO core IT applications.
Communicate (verbal and written) with the ISTO end users to support, enhance, and deliver ISTO core applications.
Maintain system documentation.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above.
Specific Skills:
Familiarity with MS Visual Studio
Familiarity with .NET platform
Website creation and implementation
Familiarity with Git version control
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform
Familiarity with Blazor framework a plus
Familiarity with database design on platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server.
Familiarity in Software Testing and Debugging.
Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a focus on code reviews and technical design
Familiarity with a development framework based on the Agile values
Problem diagnosis and resolution skills.
Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops a plus
Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any other related field. 0-1 years of programming or IT related experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out the duties of the position.
